Beyond the lab – outreach videos – sustainability
Public Engagement
We believe that science is most valuable when shared. Through outreach and public engagement, we connect our research with society, schools and the wider community. We create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to discover our research, ask questions and engage with science.
We regularly participate in outreach initiatives such as:

Beyond the lab
We organise a range of social and scientific activities that bring colleagues together, including PhD parties, annual division and lab outings, joint seminars and weekly Friday borrels. These activities offer opportunities to meet colleagues from different research groups, exchange ideas and connect outside the lab.
Sustainability
We are committed to making our research and working environment more sustainable. Our Green Team works to raise awareness and promote practical improvements in everyday lab and office work, including energy and water use, waste reduction, sustainable travel and the efficient use of resources. We use the LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) guidelines to support these efforts and identify opportunities for more sustainable and resource-efficient laboratory practices.
