Prof. Anna Akhmanova from Utrecht University and her colleagues from UK, Singapore and Canada have been awarded a 1.35 million USD grant from the Human Frontier Science Program. This international programme is extremely competitive. From the initial total of 672 letters of intent, only 25 full applications were successful. Akhmanova and her colleagues will study the mechanisms of cell attachment to the surrounding matrix from four different perspectives.
